没有自由就没有社会主义——关于自由与社会主义的学术通信

自由与社会主义是不可分离、不可分割的,自由是社会主义的本质特征和价值目标。背离自由是苏联模式社会主义的一大弊端,对此,要从中吸取历史教训。改革开放以来,我国的社会主义自由和社会主义民主已经有了长足的进步。要从中国实际出发,正确处理好自由与民主、经济自由与政治自由、自由与自由主义、自由与法治的关系,从而加快发展社会主义自由。

No Freedom, No Socialism--Academic communication between freedom and socialism

Freedom and socialism are indispensable, the former being the essential character and value object of the latter. Disposing of freedom is a big defect of the Soviet-model socialism so we should draw lesson from that. Since the reform and opening-up, our socialist freedom and democracy have made great improvements. We should proceed from actual conditions in China, deal properly with the relationship between freedom and democracy, economic freedom and political freedom, freedom and liberalism, freedom and constitutionality so as to speed up the development of socialist freedom.
