| 摘 要： | On June 29, 2006, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the Chinese parliament, approved the revised Compulsory Education Law of the People 's Republic of China, which became effective for implementation on September 1. Before the revision, the law had 18 articles with a total of 1,800 characters, which were not divided into chapters.
