张爱玲的小说作品,大多是写情说爱的,写到了人的正常的正当的要求,但是张爱玲的笔力却主要不是放在这个方面,她主要是写这种情和爱在沪港洋场社会、现代殖民都会的现实遭际和历史命运,即写出了人本要求在那不合理的畸形社会的经历和结果。张爱玲擅写两性关系、家庭关系,但恰恰在这两个“爱”的浓度最高的范畴内,在沪港洋场社会、现代殖民都会的君临和威压下,正常的情与爱发生了变异。
