摘 要: | Indian Steel Company Fights for Turf in ChinaIndia-based steel giant Mittal Steel Company N.V. is up to its old tricks again, this time in China, where it plans to merge with a local steel company. Mittal seeks a share in Hunan Valin Steel Tube & Wire Co., Ltd, and Valin seems interested. If successful, Mittal will be the first foreign steel company to merge with a Chinese state-owned steel enterprise. Valin has just completed a set of reforms, and became the first SOE to chalk up revenues of over 20 billion yuan (US $2.4 billion) in Hunan Province.
