突厥石人新探

突厥石人广布亚欧大陆的草原地带,一度引起学界的极大兴趣和关注。本文立足于前人考古研究,进一步从历史和文化的角度来探讨一些新问题。首先考察突厥石人的外在形象,可知其突出呈现着突厥的民族特征;其次探讨突厥石人的民俗学内涵,可知其与中原陵墓所附设的石翁仲截然不同,也并非“杀人石”或疑兵之物,而是代表死者接受祭祀供奉的替身;再次考查其发展,突厥石人很可能源于刻木为像的习俗,并经石椿等形式演化到石雕像,形成自己一部完整的立像习俗发展史。

Turks' Stone Statues were scattered extensively on the grasslands of Eurasia,and it had once provoked so much interest and concern in sphere of learning.On the basic of some predecessors' study on archeology,this article will inquire into some new problems from the point of view of history and culture.First,examining on the outward appearance image,we know that they can show the outstanding race characteristic of Turk.Second,exploring the connotation of Turks' stone statues on folklore,we know that they are completely different to the stone "Wengzhong"s which are attached on the imperial tombs of Central Plains,and aren't "Balbal" s or something which to mislead enemy;they are representatives who accept sacrifices for the dead.The third,before the times when they were accustomed to set up stone statues,the custom setting up wooden statues should have been fashionable;and from the wooden statue to the rock stake and to the stone statue,Turk had a whole history of herself on the custom of establishing statues.
