外语教育与社会经济的关系

随着我国现代化进程和世界一体化趋势的发展 ,外语在对外交往中的地位和作用更为明显和重要 ,对外语人才的需求量也越来越大 ,对他们的素质要求比以往更高。不仅需要培养学习文科的外语人才 ,而且还需要培养理科及跨学科的外语人才 ,才能适应我国对外开放和科技发展的要求。人才离不开教育。长期以来 ,我国的外语教育都是以应试教育为主 ,社会适应性较差 ,因此 ,外语教育的改革势在必行。外语教育的对象和目标应与社会经济的发展紧密结合起来 ,改革原来的教育方法和教育模式 ,探索出一条与国际接轨的外语教育快车道 ,培养出更多、更适用的各类外语人才。

The Relationship between Foreign Language Education and Social Economy

With the progress of China's modernization and the tendency toward global integration, foreign language as a tool is getting more and more important in international exchange programs. Society has put forward even a greater demand for the qualified foreign language learners than ever. The development of China in all spheres cries out for skilled personnel capable of foreign languages as well as knowledge in specific disciplines. However, since China has long since practiced examination-oriented education, the students after graduation usually cannot meet the practical demand of the society. Therefore, educational reform is imperative. The object and goal of foreign language education must be related closely to the development of social economy. Traditional educational patterns must be improved and efforts be made to explore more effective ways so as to furnish student with practical knowledge both of foreign languages and specific disciplines.
