Discursive institutionalism is the latest school in the jungle of Neo-institutionalism.It takes idea and discourse as the core analysis elements,and provides an endogenous and dynamic perspective for understanding institution and its changes.The discursive institutionalism makes up for the deficiency of other schools of Neo-institutionalism that tend to static and equilibrium institutional analysis.And it provides references in many aspects of theory and practice for public administration.However,the discursive institutionalism itself still has shortcomings in terms of explanatory power,theoretical applicability,and theoretical identity independence.The exchange and complementarity between the multi-disciplinary theories are very important to perfect the analysis framework of discursive institutionalism.
