略论印度教与印度佛教的关系

在历史上 ,佛教是作为印度教的异端、同时也是在承续了印度教某些教义思想的基础上而产生的 ,其后印度教与印度佛教之间又存在着复杂的既相互竞争又相互吸收和影响的关系。在理论上 ,二者之间既存在着重大的区别 (例如在对待“种姓制度”的问题上、在关于“空”与“有”的问题上 ) ,但也存在着许多出自同一文化背景的基本的一致性 (例如关于“灵魂不灭”的观念、关于“业报轮回”的观念等 )。

Hinduism and Indian Buddhism:A Historical Connection

Historically, while appearing and functioning as a heresy to Hinduism, Buddhism, almost at its very inception, inherited manifold principal elements of the Hinduist ideology and there existed a complex process of interlacing fierce contests with mutual assimilations and interactive influence. Theoretically, there are apparent differences between the two doctrines over several major points such as their attitudes towards the caste system and some abstract religious concepts.
