英汉色彩词联想意义对比研究与翻译

色彩词词义分为字面意义和联想意义两种,联想意义是由特定的民族文化所铸造的一种附加的或隐含的意义。色彩词联想意义的理解必须参照特定时代特定地域的民族文化,否则便无法理解。本文从文化语言学、词汇学及翻译学的角度探讨了英汉色彩词联想意义的共性与个性,总结了英汉色彩词对比研究的翻译方法。

A Contrastive Study of the Associative Meaning of the Color Words Conceived in the Chinese Language and the English Language

The connotative meaning is the intentional meaning which a word suggests or implies.Because of the interdependence and interinfluence between language and cuhure,people from different cultural backgrounds will have the same or different association for the same color,or similar association for the different colors in intercultural communication.The interpretation of word's meaning depends on the ethnic culture where the language is spoken.With the principles of cultural-linguistics,this paper discusses the similarities and dissimilarities of the Chinese and English color terms in connotation from four correlated angles,and summarizes the translation method of them.
