论艾略特的传统观与非个性化批评理论

艾略特是20世纪活跃在世界文坛上的伟大作家、诗人和重要的文学批评家。他所倡导的传统观和非个性化的批评理论开创了文学批评的一个崭新时代。本文从艾略特对17世纪两位著名诗人约翰·邓恩和约翰·弥尔顿所持的截然不同的观点着手,从正反两个方面诠释他的批评理论,即在对待传统与创新的问题上提倡的是一种有古有今、传统与创新共存的文学观。

On the Literary Critic Theory of Traditionalism and Impersonality by T.S.Eliot

T.S.Eliot,one of the most active figures of the literary world in the 20th century,is regarded as a great writer,poet as well as an important literary critic.The literary critical principle he advocated,namely Traditionalism and Impersonality,opened a new era in the literary critic field.This paper develops from the opposite ideas that Eliot holds toward John Donne and John Milton,two great poets of the 17th century,and interprets from both the positive and negative aspects Eliot's literary critical principle.That is the coexistence of tradition and creation in literary writing.
