A Comparison between the Sino-Western Traditional Thinking Mode in Terms of Time Notion

Throughout the ideological history of both China and the other countries, any independent theoretical thinking must be rooted in a certain cultural background. Traditional Chinese thinking mode as expounded by the thinkers of the Pre-Qin period differs significantly from Classic Western thinking mode as interpreted by Ancient Greek philosophers and Hegel, hence the respective different attitudes toward time and the understanding of development. An objective comparative study of Chinese and Western culture, discarding Europocentrism, will be helpful to the promotion of cultural exchange and the understanding of cultural diversity.
