Nature and Political Ends of American Pressing on RMB Appreciation and China's Countermeasures

With the international community's increasing concern about RMB exchange rates, the disputes and arguments on RMB appreciation are becoming fiercer between China and the United States. This article holds that US compelling for RMB appreciation is, in nature, a significant political issue, behind which lie its apparent political strategies and interest pursuits. Under the pressures of RMB appreciation, it should be handled intellectually for the maximizing of China's national interest.
