China: people living with HIV complain about conduct of medical research
Abstract:In January 2004, four people living with HIV/AIDS from Shuangmiao village, Henan Province, China, went public with complaints about the conduct of a medical experiment, raising questions about whether research subjects gave their informed consent to participate in the experiment. The complaints and questions were contained in a letter to the Ethics Review Panel of the Center for STD/AIDS Prevention and Control at the China Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
