An Exploration of the Competition-Driven Task-Based Language Teaching

The competition-driven task-based language teaching, based on the task-based language teaching, is a new attempt in which various tasks are completed by students in groups by means of the target language in the form of competition in order to arouse the students’ interest in learning and cultivate their cognitive ability, communicative competence, autonomous learning ability, cooperative learning ability and competitiveness. Practice shows that this approach which succeeds and complements the task-based language teaching proves to be feasible, operational and practicable in the classroom.
