| Abstract: | Different speakers present different transition patterns between adjacent phonemes in the connected speech of Mandarin.Consonant-vowel transition within syllable and vowel-consonant transition among syllables can be classified as clear transition(or pausing transition) and fuzzy transition(or buffering transition).Vowel-consonant transition within syllable can be assigned to gap transition and continuous transition.Vowel-vowel transition within syllable can be labeled as smooth transition,gap transition,interlaced transition and variant transition.As the transition pattern shows a large inter-speaker variation and a little intra-speaker variation,it becomes a very discriminatory feature for forensic voice identification. |
