《集韵》的原始性错误

The Original Mistakes in JiYun

Apart from errors, omissions, redundant words and transpositions of the textural criticism in JiYun (A Collection of Rhymes), there are some mistakes that are caused by the editor. Errors of such type are called original mistakes. They include (1) confusing one word with another; (2) nonexistent words; (3) the mistakes in punctuations; (4) confusing the original text with its annotations (5) quoting wrongly and (6) other types of mistakes. Identifying and distinguishing different types of these errors in Jiyun are vital to the collating, utilizing, researching and compiling of Chinese dictionaries.
