The building of dominant culture is an issue of the current times under the background of multicultur alism. To build dominant culture based on cultural nature is the foothold of cultural building, and to promote the advancement of human being is its ultimate care. Therefore, we must get rid of two prejudices, i. e. , power orien tation of culture and utilitarianization of culture, and face directly the tension between the dominance of dominant culture and the development of diverse cultures, so as to bring the dominant role of dominant culture into real play and mold a cultural surrounding for the symbiosis and mutual prosperity of dominant culture and diverse cultures.
