城市居民社会网络中的差序格局

通过对2000年北京城市居民社会网络调查资料的统计分析发现,提名顺序与网络密度、交往频率和所讨论的重要问题的性质相关。与自我关系越密切的人,越会较早进入自我的网络提名名单。与此相关的是,关系持续越长久和交往频率越高的人,越早成为自我的讨论网成员。同时,越早提到的网络成员,与自我讨论的问题更可能是混合性的。工具性内容随着提名的延后而增加,而情感性内容则随着提名的延后而减少。这些发现在很大程度上验证了费孝通先生在半个世纪以前提出的用于描述中国传统社会结构的"差序格局"理论。这一提名顺序还意味着,在包含工具性、情感性和社交性内容的混合性功能的讨论网中也存在着大致相同的模式,这也许是差序格局理论的现代扩展。

Differential Order in the Social Network of Urban Residents

According to the survey of social networks of Beijing city residents in 2000,we find that the nomination order is related to network density,association frequency and nature of discussed issues.The closer the person is,the earlier he will enter the list of network nomination.Correspondingly,the longer the relationship last and the higher the frequency of association is,the earlier he will become a member of the discussion network.Meanwhile,the earlier the network member is mentioned,the more likely the problems he discusses will mix up.The institutional content will increase with the delay of nomination while the sentimental content will decrease.These discoveries to a large extent confirm the pattern of differential order proposed by Mr.Fei Xiaotong half a century ago to describe traditional Chinese social structure.The nomination order of Beijing citizens' discussion network also means that there exists a nearly identical pattern in the network mixed with institutional,sentimental and social content,which is probably the modern expansion of the differential order.
