AN ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF FUNDING ALTERNATIVES FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION IN THE UNITED STATES

Affiliation:Director of the Master of Public Administration Program and Associate Professor of Political Science at Indiana State University, He has written papers and articles on financing wildlife programs and environmental management programs appearing in Public Administration Review, Leisure Sciences, Journal of Environmental Systems, Environmental Management, and Environmental Review among others. Formerly, Dr. Mangun was the Project Manager for Policy Analysis and National Surveys for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Washington, DC.;Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies at the University of California-Davis. He has published extensively on natural resource economics topic areas, providing a blend between his experience with management decisionmaking and academic interests. His articles appear in leading journals such as Land Economics, Journal of Environmental Management, and Journal of Leisure Research. Formerly, Dr. Loomis was a resource economist with the Western Energy and Land Use Team of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Over the past several years he has been involved as an instructor o f short courses around the United States on valuation techniques for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers personnel.
