痹证是因风、寒、湿、热等外邪侵袭人体，闭阻经络而导致气血运行不畅的病证。痹证的发生与体质的盛衰以及气候条件、生活环境密切相关。西北方之人患痹证，宜用疏通重剂、温热之药；东南方之人患痹证，宜用疏通轻剂、清凉之品；中部之人患痹证，当因地制宜。以中医理论为指导，结合痹证的现代研究，基于中医地域医学特色，探讨不同地域痹证的辨证及治疗特色具有重要意义。

Characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatments for Rheumatism in Different Regions in China

Rheumatism is the syndrome of blocked qi and blood circulation caused by exogenous pathogenic factors, such as wind, cold, dampness, and heat, which invade the human body and obstruct the channels. The occurrence of rheumatism is closely related to the body constitution, climate, and living environment. For the rheumatism patients in Northwest China, the dredging medicine with heavy formula and warm or hot nature is recommended; for the rheumatism patients in Southeast China, the dredging medicine with light formula and cool nature is recommended; for the rheumatism patients in Central China, treatment in accordance with local conditions should be adopted. It is of great significance to investigate the syndrome differentiation for rheumatism in different regions and the characteristics of related treatments. The investigation should be conducted under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory, in combination with the findings of modern research on rheumatism, and based on the regional characteristics of TCM.
