Contribution of Huangdi Neijing Taisu to Theoretical Frame Formation of Traditional Chinese Medicine

The contribution of Yang Shangshan, a famous physician in Sui Dynasty, to the theoretical frame of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was discussed in this paper. Yang was the first to advocate the classification study of Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor s Inner Canon), and he classified and annotated the contents of Suwen (Basic Questions) and Lingshu (Miraculous Pivot) to put the content arrangement in order and keep the academic contents systematic and to improve the structure and logic of contents. His Huangdi Neijing Taisu (Grand Basis) preliminarily outlines the theoretical frame of TCM and has a profound historical significance.
