Preliminary Screening for Microbial Strains Capable of Transforming Echinocystic Acid

Abstract:Objective To select different microbial strains and screen out those capable of transforming echinocystic acid. Methods Different microorganisms were used to transform echinocystic acid, and those capable of transforming echinocystic acid were screened out. Thin layer chromatography (TLC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were used to detect the transformation reaction. Results Out of 12 strains tested, 4 were capable of transforming echinocystic acid. TLC and HPLC showed that these strains transformed echinocystic acid in different ways. Conclusion The four strains capable of transforming echinocystic acid are Pestalotiopsis microspora, Helicostylum piriforme, Mucor racemosus, and Cordyceps sinensis. The transformation products of echinocystic acid can provide more valuable lead compounds for new drug development.
