One Century of Spirit of Legality in Tsinghua

The last Sunday in April each year is the founding anniversary of Tsinghua University. This year marks the one hundredth anniversary of the university. During the past century, legal and political educations have been growing with the growth of the university. Speaking of the history of Tsinghua University, we should start with the Boxer Movement, a rebellion movement originated from North China in the year 1900, when the foreign powers seized the opportunity to invade China, and later occupied Beijing, the capital city, on August 14, 1900, which was the second time after forty years the capital city was taken by foreign troops （this first time of being taken happened in 1860 when the English and French troops invaded the capital and burned the Old Summer Palace）.
