| Abstract: | Three decades have passed after the founding of the system of China-Appointed Attesting Officers in Hong Kong, during this period of time, the number of appointed attesting officers has reached 374, and the notarial deeds issued by them have amounted to 1,000,000. The system, from its founding and development to later being included into the CEPA framework, has played an important role to the prosperity and stability of the Mainland and Hong Kong. Today, communication and cooperation in economy, education, science and technology, culture, and professional service between the Mainland and Hong Kong become even closer, increasing greatly the demand for cross-border notary service, providing more developing opportunities for the appointed attesting officers and indicating the importance of notarial service. |
