The Practice of Good Government of Singapore from the Perspective of Sociology

Good government is the key to the success of Singapore which attaches great importance to being honest and upright, and competent and efficient. Predicated on the practical situations and with sincere consideration to politics and humanity, the Singaporean Government has established a set of regulations concerning the appointment of higher officials, higher salary for the public servants and anti-corruption. However, this practice, though successful in favoring the country's economic progress at low cost and well accepted by the Singaporeans as well as authoritative agencies of other countries, has its own limitations. The successful experiences of Singapore show that positive effects of social control come from the legal institution based on one's practical situation.
