In the latter half of his life, Wittgenstein made breakthroughs in the essentialist way of thinking of traditional aesthetics by using approaches of linguistic analysis. Making aesthetic activities of man a point of departure in his studies, he brought aesthetics back to the stream of life and revealed its nature. On this basis, he explored such issues as fascination of the beautiful and universality of beauty, issues that perplexed many a traditional aesthetician, and supplied new approaches to aesthetical studies.
