Affiliation: | Paul Farmer, M.D., Ph.D., is a professor at Harvard Medical School and the co-founding director of Partners In Health, a not-for-profit organization based in Boston that is committed to improving health in poor communities worldwide. As a medical anthropologist whose work draws primarily on active clinical practice, he divides his clinical time between the Brigham and Women's Hospital (Division of Infectious Disease) and a charity hospital in rural Haiti.;Nicole Gastineau is a research assistant at Partners In Health and the Department of Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. |
