本文使用2000年第二期中国妇女社会地位调查数据,探讨在婚女性和男性家务分工的决定因素。模型分析结果显示,女性的家务劳动时间远远超过男性;家内劳动分工在很大程度上依赖于男性和女性各自的性别角色观念、时间可及性、结构性资源和家庭环境。因此,如果随着市场经济的深入,男性和女性的绝对和相对资源进一步分化,那么,我们没有理由相信,家内劳动的性别差异会逐渐淡化。家务行为的分析结果表明,具有性别特征的宏观经济环境对私人空间行为具有潜在作用。

Identifying Gender Division of Private Space from the Division of Domestic Work

Using the findings of the second nationwide survey on the status of Chinese women in 2000,the paper identifies factors that affect the division of domestic work between married women and men.The results of analytical modeling show that women spend far more time than men on domestic work and that the division of domestic work depends to a great extent upon women and men's perceptions of gender roles,time,structural resources and family conditions.Thus,if there is a rise of segregation of absolute and relative resources between women and men from the growth of market economy,one has no reason to believe that the division of domestic work shall decline.The results of analysis of domestic work performance show that gender characteristics of the macroeconomic environment potentially affect individual behaviors in private domains.
