Connell and Her Gender Perspective

Connell's study focuses on the study of masculinity from a feminist perspective.She suggests that femininity and masculinity are established under a three ways relationship of the gender order.As a most well known scholar on men's studies,she argues that masculinity is constructed in social practice and can be distinguished in four distinct types: from the controlling type,to the subordinate type,and to the marginalized type and the conspiracy type.Connell has contributed to gender studies based on her assessment of crisis in masculinity as it occurs in the process of globalization despite regional differences.
