Revisiting the At-Will Employment Doctrine: Imposed Terms, Implied Terms, and the Normative World of the Workplace

Abstract:This article describes developments that have modified the at-willdoctrine in the United States. It argues that the courts areevolving a hybrid type of employment contract which is neitherstrictly at-will nor a general form of dismissal protection.
