三苗、荆蛮与瑶族来源问题

在文献记载和考古学材料相结合之下，作为三苗文化遗存的长江中游史前考古学文化，应是包括瑶族先民在内的各古代部族在远古时期的文化遗留。商周时期荆蛮获得了较大的发展，在与■、越、巴、卢戎等族的交错杂处中，经过长期的民族融合和文化整合，孕育形成新的古代民族族群，这些族群在秦汉以后被史籍按分布地城称为长沙蛮、武陵蛮等．并最终从中分化出莫徭。瑶族的民族来源和文化渊源由此有了比较明确的线索。

Sanmiao, Jing Man, and Origin of Yao Nationality

Sanmiao cultural heritage, the pre-historic archeological culture of the middle and low- er reaches of Yangtze River, in accordance with literature and archeological materials concerned, should cover the cultural heritage of all nationalities during the remote antiquity, including the ancestors of Yao people. Jing Man nationality elntered its relatively prosperous period during Shang Dynasty and Zhou Dynasty and mixed with Pu,Yue, Ba, Lurong nationalities. As a result of longtime national melt- ing and cultural integration, new ancient groups of nationalities emerged which were named Changsha Man and Wuyi Man after Qing Dynasty and Han Dynasty according to their geographical distribution in historic books and eventually gave birth to Mo Yao people. Hence, a clear clue has been found with re- gard to the origin of Yao nationality and its culture.
