Socialist Feminism and Its Contribution to Legal Theory

Socialist feminism was an important branch of American feminist theory which was neglected by feminist jurists.In 2016,Professor Bowman began to remind them of socialist feminism.In fact,as an important intellectual achievement of the second wave of feminism,the dual systems theory has made scholars realize the disunity of law in the public and private fields,and then criticized the capitalist matrimonial and family system and paid attention to employment gender discrimination.At the same time,the perspective theory is of great significance to identify the masculinity of law and put forward the feminist legal theory which conforms to the femininity.The theory of alienation has also led researchers to recognize the alienation of women in rape,sexual harassment,reproduction and labor.In addition,class and race analysis make scholars realize the diversity within women,and this criticizes the gender-based essentialism of mainstream feminist jurisprudence,which points the way to perfecting the theory of feminist legal theory.
