Affiliation: | K. A. L. Parker, CB, MA, was one of the three assistant secretaries in charge of the police divisions of the Home Office after the war (1948-50). Later he was head of the Home Office Police Department (1961–6) and then Receiver for the Metropolitan Police District (administrative and financial head of the force) from 1967 to 1974. Subsequently he has kept in close touch with police affairs, especially (until 1985) as a member of the boards selecting officers for the Police Staff College (including the senior command course). |
