On the Language Policies and Language Education in Myanmar

This paper probes into the language policies and language education in Myanmar in the five stages: pre-colonial, colonial, parliamentary, Socialist and SPDC periods. Myanmar,as a multi-ethnic and multi-linguistic country , it takes the successive governments great efforts to escalate Myanmar as the national language after independence.
