Retrospect and Prospect of Unemployment Insurance System of China

With an introduction to the shaping, developing and ameliorating process of the unemployment insurance system, this article summarizes the evolution laws of this system and analyses the problems it faces during its implementation as well as the cause of these problems. It also speculates on the difficulties and challenges this system is likely to encounter in the future. Based on these analyses, the paper points out that the development direction of this system is one that is characterized by legalization, socialization, normalization and the guidance of employment. It then goes further to propose several relevant measures.
