Abstract: | In January 2003, a British Columbia Supreme Court judge awarded $15,000 for mental anguish to a woman who was stuck by a syringe found in the back of a taxicab. In assessing the damages, the Court took into account the woman's possible exposure to HIV and the reasonableness of her belief that she was at risk of seroconverting. |
