网络学术打假与学术共同体建设

Use of Network to Fight Against Academic Fraud and the Rebuilding of the Academic Community

The fight against academic fraud has been pushed to a new level after Fang Zhouzi was attacked and Xiao Chuanguo was arrested, which is an achievement of using the network to fight against academic fraud. Network overcomes many obstacles of traditional media and reporting systems, makes known to the public the acts of academic fraud in the form of the ＂news event＂, and conducts a ＂virtual trial＂ with the positive interaction with the persons concerned and their supporters. All these consequently create a strong online public opinion, directly or indirectly affect the handling of the academic fraud. In this pro- cess, the academic community that bears the responsibility of the examination and evaluation of academic achievements has even been exposed to commit corruption and dereliction of duty, which seriously damages its public image. As the ＂conscience of society＂, how can the academic community strengthen its serf-construction, rebuild itself and tide over the crisis of confi- dence？ The use of the network to fight against academic fraud gives us the enlightenment that we should establish a supervision mechanism on the basis of information disclosure and the extensive public participation.
