US Predicament in Iraq and Legacies of Iraq War

The United States waged Iraq War in 2003. In spite of its military victory in Iraq, it found itself in a predicament after four years. This is mainly because the Bush Administration has blundered in its decision-making and implementation of its national security strategy as well as its occupation policy towards Iraq. Although the Bush administration has adjusted its policies towards Iraq and the Middle East, and reshuffled its foreign policy-making group by removing neoconservatives in the past several years, making its policy towards Iraq and the Middle East return to realism, the situation in Iraq still remains unstable. The Iraq War has influenced regional and international structures; and it will leave behind many historical legacies.
