缅甸华人与当地民族关系研究

那些无法融入缅甸社会的中国人因政治、经济和社会等各种原因而陆续离开了缅甸 ,那些仍然留下来的华人很好地融入了主流社会 ,有时甚至很难辨别出他们与其他诸如缅甸、掸、及克伦等种族集团之间的差别。绝大多数华人能讲缅语 ,并取缅甸名字和穿戴缅甸服饰。更重要的是他们跟缅甸人一样 ,一般都信奉佛教。他们对缅甸的社会经济发展作出了巨大贡献。他们越来越多地同缅甸人通婚 ,促进了华人融入主流社会的进程。

Relationship Between Ethnic Chinese in Myanmar and Original inhabitants

Those Chinese in Myanmar who could not integrate with Myanmar society had left the country at various times for many political, economic, and social reasons. Those ethnic Chinese who remained to stay are so well integrated with the host society that it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between them and other ethnic groups such as Bamar, Shan, Karens, and so on . Most of the ethnic Chinese can speak Myanmar language and have adopted Bamar names and dress. More importantly, like most Myanmar people, they are generally Buddhist. They have also contributed to the development of the country. There have also been more inter marriages between ethnic Chinese and Bamars. Thus, this has fostered integration of the Chinese with Myanmar society.
