教会报刊与近代中国新闻事业

由于受西方近代文化和中国近代文化的双重必然性制约 ,近代文化史上的教会报刊在释放其自觉的福音传播媒介功能的同时 ,也充当了促进近代中国新闻事业产生和发展以及传统文化近代转型的不自觉的历史工具。对于近代文化史上的教会报刊的研究 ,既可以从传统的动机论层面出发 ,也可以从通过偶然性实现自身的历史必然性高度出发 ,达到对这一近代文化现象的多重观照和理解

Church newspapers and the journalism of modern China

The church newspapers in the modern history of culture have unconsciously pushed forward the emergence and development of Chinese modern journalism and the structural transformation of Chinese traditional culture along with their conscious dissemination of the Gospel. That can be owed to the double influence of both modern western culture and the Chinese modern culture. We try to indicate that a study of church newspapers in the modern cultural history can be conducted both from the viewpoint of a traditional motive approach and from that of a historical necessity fulfilled in the contingency. This phenomenon of modern culture will consequently be interpreted in various ways.
