The Party's first generation of leading group established the general policy, general task of our army's construction, and proposed the strategic policy of actie defence, and therefore, these have great impetus to the overall beginning of the construction of modernization of our anmy. the second generation of our Party's leading group realized the strategic transformation of the construction of the army and the national defence, and established the general target for the army's constructions again, and proposed the policy of improving the army's quality and strengthening the army with science and technology, and going towards the road of building up excellent forces with Chinese characteristics, and these pushed forward our army's comprehensive construction in new times. The third generation of the Party's leading group proposed the military strategy policy for the new age, realized the two substantial transformations; and put forward the general requirements for our army's construction; and these made the army's construction into a new historic period.
