Affiliation:Gregory M. Herek, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Davis. An internationally recognized authority on AIDS-related stigma, prejudice against lesbians and gay men, and antigay violence, he has published many scholarly articles on these topics. He received the American Psychological Association's 1996 Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest.
