This final rule implements revised wage index values, geographic adjustment factors, operating standardized amounts, and capital Federal rates for hospitals subject to the inpatient prospective payment system. These changes result from requests made by hospitals in response to a final rule with comment period published in the Federal Register on November 19, 1998. These revisions will be implemented on a prospective basis.
