以学生为中心的外语教学——从一种理念到一场运动

本文旨在透视一个国内外都十分关注的外语教学问题。以学生为中心的外语教学 ,既是教学方法的问题 ,又涉及一整套外语教学原则、操作规程以及配套设施的改革。它从国外传到中国 ,并得到一部分教师的青睐 ,可能预示着新时期我国外语教育改革的发展方向。但是 ,从大纲设计、需求分析、学生情商、教师自立及其与学生自立的关系、教学评估与学生自我测试等方面来考察 ,目前以学生为中心的外语教学仍宜局限在小范围的实验阶段

Learner-Centred Foreign Language Teaching-from a Concept to a Movement

The popular issue of learner-centred foreign language pedagogy is scrutinized in this paper. The subject is both a question of teaching methodology and an innovation with respect to teaching rationale, operational procedure and related facilities. The fact that it was introduced to China from abroad and has won some teachers' admiration may point to the new direction of China's foreign language education reform in the current epoch. However, due to problems of syllabus design, needs analysis, students' emotional intelligence, teacher autonomy and its relation to learner autonomy, teaching evaluation and self-assessment, it is suggested that learner-centred instruction should be restricted within the limit of small-scale experiment at the moment.
