| Abstract: | This paper examinse the gender issues faced by women's colleges during the Nationalist Era using the case of the Jinling Women's College.These issues include the setting of the goals of women's college,gender roles debate in curriculum development,determination to stay single and response to "good wife/mother" stereotype.The paper reveals a struggle of insisting on women's rights to independent management against integration. |
