Putin' s Diplomacy: Focus of World' s Attention

Since inauguration President Putin has initiated a grand dipiomatic adjustment. First and foremost, he reinforced the leading role of Russia in the Commonwealth of Independent States, curbing the American expansion in the CIS. Backed up by the CIS, Putin pursued actively a policy of "Double - winged Diplomacy"balancing the East and West. Putin strengthened the cooperation with West Europe and EU in particular, which enabled Russia to free itself from American hindrance as well as to create a good atmosphere of cooperation with West European countries. Putin also strengthened economic and political ties with Eastern countries, promoting Eastern Diplomacy. The "Double-winged Diplomacy" enabled Russia to get a favorable position between the East and the West, effectively lending itself more leeway in foreign affairs. Putin stressed the role of struggle in diplomacy ,and was both bold and good at struggling. The diplomatic policies of Putin have achieved significant gains.
