上个世纪30年代,我国现代作家掀起了写“传记文学”的热潮,“别具一格,离奇有趣”的《从文自传》被周作人、老舍等人誉为“最喜欢读的书”。作者以他特有的真诚和坦率,用优美的文字写他20岁以前的生活,讲述他的种种“顽劣”和“美德”,是一部掺合了“诗与真实”的自传,而潜隐在故事里的是“近于出入地狱的沉重和辛酸”。

Shen Congwen''''s Literary Process in his Youth--On Autobiography of Congwen

In 1930s, modern Chinese writers craved for writing "biography" and the unique, fantastic and interesting book, Autobiography of Congwen, was praised by Zhou Zuoren and Lao She as the "most favorite book". In the book, the author, with his unique honesty and frankness, wrote about his life before 20 in beautiful words and described lots of his "naughtiness" and "merit". The book is kind of autobiography added into "poetry and truth" and what is implied in the story is the "prison-like heaviness and bitterness".
