Empirie der Kryptodoxie. Programmatische Skizze zu einer Wissenssoziologie des Verborgenen

The present article gives an outline of a research program, with the aid of which the zones of hidden knowledge within the order of ??Wirklichkeit?? of modern societies can be empirically investigated. After a brief sketch of the theoretical concept, the idea of cryptodox knowledge will be made concrete by using a case vignette, presented here for the first time: The example ??empirical knowledge about (sexual) violence in pedagogic institutions?? shall indicate what shadow zones of the knowledge order are, how they develop and what can lead to their dissolution. Subsequent to this, the programmatic guidelines of an empirically based sociology of knowledge of cryptodoxy will be presented. The closing chapter discusses methodological and ethical problems of this research program.
