日据时期台湾的“市区改正”及其对城镇发展形态的影响

日本占领台湾后,为了满足殖民统治、配合殖民地资源和经济掠夺的需要,开始大力进行台湾城镇的基础建设事业,继之,在台湾主要市街实施"市区改正"计划和工事.经过改造,台湾城镇内部结构及其形态发生了重大变化,各种交通、卫生、休憩等公共设施有了较大的改善,适应近代经济和产业发展要求的各种设施得以建立,也促进了城镇经济的较快发展."市区改正"中断了台湾城镇原有的发展模式,改变了传统中国式的城镇形态,使城镇具有了日本以及欧美近代城市的某些特点,对台湾城镇的现代化发挥了较大的影响作用,但其目的在于将台湾的城镇(市街)改造成为适应殖民统治和经济掠夺需要的大小中心据点.

Taiwan's Urban Correction During Japanese Occupation and its Influence on City Development Formation

In order to meet the needs of colonial ruling and economic plundering, Japanese colonial government devoted major efforts to develop basic construction of Taiwan cities after the occupation, and then to carry out the plan of urban correction. After urban correction, the internal structure and formation of Taiwan city changed greatly. The public facilities were improved, the facilities meet the needs of modem economic development were constructed, and the city economy developed more fast. Urban correction had changed Taiwan traditional Chinese city formation into a new formation which had some characteristics of modern Japanese and Europe-America cities, and made considerable effect on the modernization of Taiwan city. But the intention of urban correction was to turn Taiwan cities into big or small strongpoint meet to the needs of colonial ruling and economic plundering.
