| Abstract: | The construction of the Socialist New Countryside is a major topic which concerns everyone in contemporary China.The author discusses in this paper the developmental path for underdeveloped areas by means of the field survey,document review and work reports by local officials in Xiaoji Town of Jiangsu Province and concludes that the Xiaoji Mode,known as Starting with Agriculture and Breakthrough with Industry,is one of the best ways for backward areas to develop. |
